The Melrose Georgetown Hotel

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel, located near the White House, hosts domestic and international business travelers, diplomats and politicians. With 1930s sophisticated Georgetown as inspiration, LEO A DALY designers selected high contrast tones of parchment and gunmetal grays along with pops of patriotic color hues of indigo, rust and currency green to reflect the city’s American heritage. Black and white photography of 1930s Georgetown adorns the public areas, with clean lines and symmetry reflecting order.

The design ensures the lobby, restaurant and lounge flow together, offering a variety of seating options within a common atmosphere. In the lobby, a federal-style fireplace serves as the focal point for the room, offering a sense of warmth and tradition. In keeping with the collegiate Georgetown atmosphere, the library has semi-private vignettes, plug and play nooks and communal tables for impromptu meetings and social interaction. Flooring designs use travertine and marble in bold, graphic patterns.
