Lied Learning and Technology Center For Childhood Deafness And Vision Disorders
Four decades after Father Flanagan started Boys Town, his successors extended his work with the Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) and, most recently, the Lied Learning and Technology Center for Childhood Deafness and Vision Disorders. At the heart of the Lied Learning and Technology Center is a new 40,000-SF facility designed around education, research, and information dissemination. The facility consists of research labs, an education, conference and distance learning center, technology classrooms, and staff offices with collaboration areas. Using videoconferencing, families throughout the nation can directly access and view outreach programs from expert speech, language, and hearing personnel that allow their deaf or hearing impaired children to participate from their homes.
