Burlington Public Library
The City of Burlington recently expanded library services to a new structure on a downtown site with views of the Mississippi River. LEO A DALY designers selected local red brick, red Indian limestone and slate shingles to complement and energize the historic architectural language of Burlington. The interior features natural wood trusses and views of the river. The 50,000-SF facility includes a coffee shop, genealogy section, meeting rooms, gift shop, public computers, teen area and story time room, in addition to adult and youth services. Technology is well integrated into the facility and includes a wireless network, self-checkout and centralized printing.
