Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott Campus – STEM Facility

In 1978, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) opened its Prescott campus in the Arizona desert overlooked by majestic mountains. Due to tremendous student growth, ERAU has tapped LEO A DALY to design several buildings, including a complex lab and classroom building.

The two-story, 50,000-SF ERAU STEM building provides specialized labs, general classrooms and a planetarium. Technical labs are designed for physics, biology, mechanical, 3-D printing and robotic learning.

A two-story central atrium provides a collaborative learning environment for casual meetings, while also providing a central light shaft through the building.
The main lobby is designed as a multipurpose space for public lectures and fundraising and community events, and the planetarium, with more than 120 seats, also encourages the community to use the campus.

Specialized spaces within the ERAU STEM building include:

• Robotics build and test labs
• Static-free clean rooms for nanotechnology
• Laser labs for teaching and research
• Space grant/NASA research lab
