Stater Bros. Markets Corporate Offices and Distribution Center

San Bernardino, California

Stater Bros. Markets, the largest privately owned supermarket chain in southern California, consolidated and replaced eight warehouses into a single 2.2 million-SF energy- and operationally-efficient distribution facility.

Located in a seismically active area, the project required design strategies to create earthquake-resistant buildings that ensure the safety and security of the occupants and assets. The design responds to logistical challenges to reduce cost of operation and maximize efficiency. Buildings incorporate bi-level lighting and skylights to reduce electrical costs and maximize natural light. Energy-efficient refrigeration design incorporates the latest controls technologies to further reduce operational costs. State-of-the-art data communication and security systems enable Stater Bros. Markets to efficiently and safely manage up to 200 visitors a day.
